Environmental Conservation
The BGM Charitable Society has taken proactive steps to promote environmental conservation by establishing an Environment Club. The club actively engages with households, assisting them in planting trees and various other plants to safeguard the environment. Additionally, BGM consistently conducts impactful environmental campaigns to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of plastic and other non-biodegradable materials. As part of their initiatives, BGM organized a seminar on World Environment Day this year.
Furthermore, the women's development cell of BGM Charitable Society plays a crucial role in organizing regular awareness programs through women's Self Help Groups. These programs foster group discussions and interactions within the Women Self Help Groups and Tuition Centres. Recognizing the importance of comprehensive well-being, BGM regularly arranges awareness camps for mothers, focusing on topics such as nutrition, health, sanitation, and child care. These camps serve as invaluable resources for the participants, equipping them with essential knowledge and skills.
Rain Water Harvesting
At BGM Charitable Society, we firmly believe in the importance of sustainable practices for the betterment of our community and the environment. As a part of our ongoing efforts, we have taken a significant step towards conserving water resources by constructing Rainwater Harvesting tanks for those in need within our area. By implementing Rainwater Harvesting systems, we aim to harness and preserve the precious rainwater that falls during the monsoon season, turning it into a valuable resource that can be utilized for various purposes year-round. This initiative not only helps to alleviate water scarcity but also promotes self-reliance among the beneficiaries, empowering them to meet their water needs more efficiently. Through such endeavors, we are dedicated to creating a greener and more sustainable future for the community, where every drop of rainwater contributes to positive change and a healthier environment for all
Water Wells Construction for poor families
In the water-scarce project area of BGM, where drinking water remains elusive for about six months each year, the reliance on open water sources like ponds and community wells brings forth significant challenges. As the summer season arrives and the groundwater levels drop, accessing safe drinking water becomes an arduous task, leading to the outbreak of waterborne diseases such as Cholera and Diarrhoea. In response to this pressing issue, BGM Charitable Society has undertaken the crucial initiative of constructing water wells for impoverished families in need.
By digging open wells or individual wells, we aim to provide a sustainable solution to the water crisis faced by these vulnerable communities. Through the construction of these wells, we not only ensure access to safe and clean drinking water but also actively contribute to preventing water-related diseases and improving overall public health. Our commitment to helping the poor families in the project area goes beyond immediate relief; it seeks to create a lasting impact on their well-being and quality of life. With every well we construct, we take a step toward a future where water scarcity is alleviated, and the health and prosperity of the community are enhanced
